Jose Solis' contemporary work bears witness to a modern Latino culture; extracting symbols from Roman Catholicism and Pre-Columbian iconography. His recent assemblages and mixed media works are simplified components of those symbols. For about four years, Jose has been using simple materials and found objects for his constructions. He has recently concentrated on readily available hardware materials such as; foil tape, aluminum vent components, rope, tacks, etc.
