"Progress" doesn't wait for nature, and despite years of neglect, the realtor for the property involved thinks the barrels are an eyesore. This installation will be removed on February 7, 1996.

The situation of nature as metaphor of hope, as originally proposed for this project, didn't anticipate: 1) the drought of 1996, or 2) the development of a new stadium two blocks from this installation. The originally intended Second Phase idealistically proposed that if we as a society would look beyond stereotypes, we could create a livable city. While this may still be true, the revised conclusion to this project might be more appropriate. Our society doesn't tend to make decisions because of any moral obligation, but because there is money to be made. Maybe our future is for sale?
