The imagery in my recent work is concerned with the idea of passage and continues the exploration of memory, symbolic association, desire, and transformation.

Through the use of drawing and collage it is my desire as an artist to convey emotion that advances by way of memory. Tracking memory connects my interest in the inner psychological landscape, the idea of life as journey, and an unbroken thread of consciousness.

My technique involves a layering of graphite, charcoal, oil pastel, and prismacolor on paper, often incorporating recycled drawings cut and collaged onto the surface. This recycling allows use of past work to inhabit new work, thus implanting memory and a sense of mystery into the more ambiguous distilled imagery I am currently striving for.
