The Endless Forest

The Endless Forest is a multiplayer online game where everyone is a deer in a magical forest. The setting is idyllic, the atmosphere peaceful. You communicate with one another through sounds and body language. We designed the game to be a safe haven where you make your own play. Nothing stressful to do, no violence, and no way to annoy each other. Just run through the forest and see what happens! You may find things to eat which allow you to change another players appearance. If you sleep in a ring of mushrooms you may be able to help someone shapeshift! Or you may come upon special places where strange things happen! But mostly you enjoy the environment and play with the other deer. Its fun! This is a multiplayer environment which has been running online, and in constant use since 2005. Hundreds of players from all over the world still come to The Forest daily. It was originally a modest project commissioned from us by the MUDAM in Luxembourg. We as the creators of the game can manifest our divine powers in the world as the Twin Gods and make the rain fall and flowers grow, fireworks and other spectacles! It s a performance engine called ABIOGENESIS that we used to use quite a deal more than we do today. But still we may surprise you! We didn’t expect that a strange game where everyone plays a deer, without means of communication except via body language would appeal to so many. But we did design it to envision a better world. It was made in belief that a peaceful world is possible. And that even though we may not understand one another completely, we can have a harmonious society and maybe it is more fun to run than it is to go on talking.
