Open House

Open House was a networked installation that allowed guests from around the world to remotely control physical aspects of a "distressed" house in Gainesville, Florida.

From July 2010 to June 2012 the project took one of several forms: (1) a site-specific installation in the form of a house in foreclosure occupied by squatters, (2) a computer application that allowed remote participants the ability to examine and contemplate the installation, (3) a portable display device called the "mobile home" that allowed the artists to engage communities, (4) a gallery-bound interactive installation with dual projections and responsive door frame and, (5) a series of telematic performances associated with the Tracing Home exhibition in Vancouver, BC.
